Help improve my print quality
I got my printer (mk3) built a few weeks back and I’ve been printing lots of stuff :).
I am a little disheartened by the way some objects come out. Can someone suggest what’s wrong? I believe I’ve got my belts tight enough. But the print maybe has layer shift?
Re: Help improve my print quality
Do you have these artifacts both in X and Y direction?
For a start you can check if the grub screws against the drive shaft on the idlers are tight. Looseness of those might lead to what looks like tiny layer shifts.
Re: Help improve my print quality
Looks like the root cause is uneven extrusion. Here are my thoughts on it:
1. Check extruder gears are perfectly aligned and sits tight
2. Change filament.
3. Make some cold pulls to clean up the nozzle

I don't think it's the the grub screws those seem fine (I checked them recently with the belt tension). it could be uneven extrusion though, the gears look fine, and I believe I've got the right tension on the extrusion gears (though it isn't clear to me how to check) I very likely could need to do some cold pulls I've had clogs in the past....
Re: Help improve my print quality
Is anything wrong with this (seems near perfect to me)? Anything else I should do?
Glad it did work out. Without knowing how you sliced it, maybe reduce the extrusion multiplier and slow down the print. It might produce better quality.
But with a pure white filament I would consider this as a really good print already.
