Gaps when printing round things

I am aware of the need for the tool head to transition between circles when printing round geometries.
Is there a solution to avoid/minimize those seams?

These seems are already in the gcode visible:

Another round structure has the same issue however the issue wanders around the geometry

What is the proper way to deal with this? Apart from changing the "Seam" setting in Slic3r. Are there some modelling or slicing tricks that may improve the resulting seam quality?

This has been sliced with the standard PLA 5% Infill

Re: Gaps when printing round things

It depends on your slicer software. It may also be partially dependent on the firmware you're running.

With the latest firmware releases, Prusa has re-enabled Linear Advance which is supposed to minimize seams in a more sophisticated manner. Are you using a current version of Slic3r with firmware v3.2.1 or later?

The slic3r documentation mentions that printing shapes sequentially can also minimze the effect.

If the shape is a true cylinder, you could give vase (continuous extrusion) mode a shot if it will work with thin walls. You could use a thicker nozzle for thicker single extrusion walls.

Cura and Simplify 3D provide a number of features, including coasting and retraction settings to try to minimize visible seams.

Other than that, you end up trying to hide it. I use slic3r's "nearest" option (see the slic3r doc). Cura has a lot of options available to try to tuck it into a corner. Slowing down speeds, particularly for external perimeters, may help. You could try adjusting extrusion slightly as well. Unfortunately, it's a "try and see" game most of the time, and the results may vary by model.

I am on Slic3r 1.40 and use the latest firmware on the machine since my first print.
AFAIK those prusa profiles should have linear advance already enabled, am I right?
