Flexfill 98a fine tuning problems

Hey all! I'm having some issues calibrating flexible filament prints. I'm using Fillamentum's Flexfill 98a Vertigo Grey on my Prusa MK3S. The good news is, I'm not having any issues extruding filament or being able to actually print the flexfill filament (woohoo!!) The bad news is that my benchy's have some weird issues. First I'll start off with some settings I've tried and problems with them then I'll present the issue and the main problem I'm encountering. Would love a little help with fine tuning the flexible filament settings!

Main settings and their issues:

  • .15mm layer, 235c, 25mm/s speed, 1.1 extrusion multiplier

    • Seems to overextrude (only increased multiplier bc it was suggested in a guide - mistakes were made). Temp may have also been too high - the filament came out kind of droopy

  • .15mm layer, 225c, 25mm/s speed, .95 extrusion multiplier

    • Same problems as above without the droopiness of the filament, the layers went down way nicer so the temp seems to be ok and the extrusion multiplier was spot on. Only issue was the front of the benchy was not aligned properly - seems like it needed supports or something (refer to images as this is the main issue with the final attempt as well)

  • .2mm layer, 220c, 20mm/s speed, .95 extrusion multiplier

    • I received the best results from these settings. I'm facing stringiness but I can adjust the temp to be slightly lower and mess with retraction settings (currently all flexfill prints at retract .8mm at 30mm/s) so that's not an issue for me. Please refer to images to see whats wrong with my benchy (layers not on top of each other in front of benchy + the chute on top of benchy is melted looking - chute problem only happened with this attempt, previous attempts were fine!)

There is nothing wrong with your benchy. Make sure your speed settings are set 20mm/s max for everything!

Beside of that wherever you see melted spots, this is where you need to turn the fan on/slow down/improve cooling of the part. The layer don't have enough time to cool down.
