First layer seems to start well, but then gets messy

Not sure what would be causing this. I've cleaned the bed, and I've done live Z adjust, could this be a result of "wet" filament?
I live in the midwest and it's typically really humid most days.

Update, I'm trying a spool I had in storage, and it seems to be doing much better. Different brand, and most likely dry since it wasn't just sitting out.

RE:

You might try drying the original filament and see for sure if it prints better after drying.

Also, damp filament will often times produce clicking or popping sounds as it extrudes.

No expert, it may well be wet filament but also it could be a partially clogged nozzle or Z too high.

I agree with those above, whilst it *might* be a misadjusted 'Z' value it's unsafe to judge until the filament is dried.

Cheerio,

Gotcha, I'll throw it it in a food dehydrator once I'm off work and I'll try the bed square again.

I actually replaced the nozzle yesterday. Once I dry the original roll, I'll see how it prints from there and adjust the z value again if needed.

RE:

Probably could have benefitted from letting it sit in the dryer longer (it's an old food dehydrator that's losing its oomf)
But it turned out a lot better! Some "bubbling" under it, but nowhere near as bad as it was.

Edit: I haven't gotten that bubbling on the first layer test print with my other filament spools so far
