Extruder begins to jump, Material stops flowing...

This has happened to me 4 times now.  Here is the video...

I am using Prusa PLA and all the settings are as standard on PrusaSlicer 2.2.0  ...except for adding support.

I raise the print head, set the Temperature for PLA @ 215˚and drive the extruder manually under settings.  The clicking continues.  After a while of retracting and pushing the filament,  It starts to work and makes a lovely stream of material.

I have removed the filament,  replaced it, poked the .4mm nozzle with the Acupuncture needle.  It prints for a while,  then stops again.

I have had years of faultless service from this printer,  and never any trouble until now.

How do I fix this?

RE: Extruder begins to jump, Material stops flowing...

I have had the same type of issues with Prusa PLA. The first thing I would try, would be to turn up the temp on the nozzle try it at 220C first, when I print with it I print at 225C (My machines are stock MK3's and an MK3S) however see if 220 solves your problem, if not try 225. if that wont do it then I would suggest cleaning the nozzle with cold pulls and if that still doesn't help, replace the nozzle as it is probably clogged beyond cleaning.

I've been printing on Prusa's for about 3 yrs now, My opinion is that Prusa PLA (the PLA that comes with the printer) is Crap, I still have two unused rolls because I don't like to put it in my machines. I would like to note that I do not have any problems with Prusa ASA, PETG or PC Blend, go figure. If you have another brand of PLA handy you might want to give it a try as well.

Good Luck, I hope this helps.
