Design with Bridge Infill keeps getting knocked off the bed

I am a day 1 MK3 user who has used 100s of KG of filament with no issue, so I am not new to this.

But recently I finally upgraded my MK3 with the MK3S kit that I bought when it came out as I had no time before.. Since then I moved house so only did a handful of prints.. I mention this now as it could be related to my issue?

I have designed a leg for a cabinet which looks like this:

But inside its like this:

This means that at the top of the hollow section there is an overhang, so bridge infill is used.. I print goes fine right up until it does the bridge infill at the top.. And then it gets ripped off the bed.... Its now done this three times at exactly the same point.. There is something about the bridge infill at the top, combined with the normal infill at the side which is causing the nozzle to snag the model and rip it off.

I first thought this could be an 1st layer adhesion thing, but after giving the bed a good scrub it did exactly the same thing..

This prints perfectly on my Mini, so its just a MK3 thing.. Does anyone have any thoughts as to whats causing this?

Hi!

Not sure I can help diagnose the problem with the bridge infill, but is there any reason why you can't print this model the other way up and avoid the bridge infill entirely?

Cheers,

Tim

🙂 Oh yes.. Thats a really good point.. Why am I even doing it like this... That was the idiot moment of my week.. I never even thought..

I have now printed them on my Mini so its too late to do anything now.. But I am now more annoyed that I can't print this..

As a test this morning, I reduced the height, so it got to the bridge infill after a few layers and it printed fine.. So it only seems to be a problem on a taller model.

Its not really worth worrying about.. I think I will just write this one off and mark it up to experience.
