Curling on bridges and overhangs after changing nozzle

Hello everybody,

So I just changed my nozzle from my mk3s+ From the 0.4mm to a 0.6mm from micro swiss.

After that I did the first layer calibration, which I find kind of difficult for the textured bed.

Then I started my first print with the new nozzle which ended in pretty bad curling on some overhangs. Since I knew the filament isn’t the greatest I used for that I switched to prusament galaxy black pla and tried a benchy.

I sliced the benchy with prusa slicer 2.5.0 alpha 3 with the 0.2mm quality settings for the 0.6 mm nozzle and the prusament pla settings.

At first it printed fine till it reaches the windows and doors of the benchy. As soon as it starts to close the overhangs it pushes the benchy off since it hits the slightly curled overhang.

I thought it might be a bad first layer so I lowered the z height a bit and the same happened, just that the benchy now got a slight elephant Foot

Since I thought of bad part cooling and someone posting that the silicone sock blocks some airflow, I took that off and did the pid calibration without any change.

Now I am not sure if it’s just some settings I need to tweak I am not aware of, or if I did something wrong whilst changing the nozzle since it’s my first time going bigger.
I put some images of the benchy at the end, maybe it helps.

RE: Curling on bridges and overhangs after changing nozzle

Hi @chesus,

I'm having what seems to be the same issue, recently changed a nozzle, recalibrated (ended up changing z fix 0.150 mm up/closer to the heat block)
since I've done that change the overhang is poor, to the point that 0.5 cm bridge and 45 Degree layer overhand fail

I suspect the nozzle it a poor knockoff that simple release all it's it rather than contain it.

I would love to hear anyones take on our issue and whether there is anyone else also experiencing it (possibly resolved it already)
