Add few layers of TPU on top of PLA print

As the subject says I would like to add a few layers TPU to form cushion feet on a PLA print ( or other material for that mater eg Prusament Poly carbonate carbon fibre). As I would be only printing pads there would be no switching back and forth of filaments after the change.

I though setting up virtual extruders but I not sure how to do that.

thanks in advance

PLA doesn't stick well to TPU. I would recommend PETG.

If you use full layers, I would just use the colour change function. You can add custom g-code if you need to adjust temperatures, but TPU should work on PETG temperatures.

You can use height range modifiers if you need to adjust the speed.

For cushion feet you are probably better off printing locators in the pla then the feet as a second job and finishing with glue.

This is one of the things that we hope the XL will make easier as it should be possible to print anchors into the part so that less compatible plastics can be printed mechanically interlinked 'though soft feet are almost always going to be better as replaceable stick-ons.

Cheerio,
