x axis fails the self test

I have been printing with my i3 mk3s for 6 months now with out many problems.  On Saturday night my printer all of a sudden screwed up the x axis for some reason I was getting a clicking noise when is would move along the x axis and now it wont pass the self test when it gets to the x axis.  It puts the whole assembly about 10 cm from the right side and then when I go to settings and move axis the x axis will only move 10 steps to the left then it stops at 0 and wont go left any further.

Power off your printer and move the extruder by hand, left and right.

It should move smoothly to each end. If it does not - you have to figure out the reason and fix it.

Any binding will make the firmware think it has crashed, and lose positioning.

The firmware will not allow you to move below position 0 even if you do not have a problem.
