What causes this layer shift

Drempel layer shift.JPG[/attachment]

This 15 hours printing model showes 2 layer shifts in the Y-axes direction. As you can see in the pictures, the end of the print the position ( last 5 layers )are back in the normal position.

I have seen this phenomenon twice, and only in a Z-axes printposition of 10 cm and higher.

The Y-axes belt and the pulley are not the problem.

Suggestions are very welcome.

Silent mode was off? Because crash detection do not work in this mode.
I had same isue several month ago. Only way how to fix this was switch off crash detection. I have done everything starting with belt (it play chamber A), to oiling linear bearing, threaded rod...

once time I had the same problem. This mistake was caused by a knot in the filament. The extruder needed an extra power to undo the knot and lost the position for a few millimeters due to the resistence.

Thanx for the response.

I"ll switch of the crasdetection.
In the logfile(failstats) of the printer there are no crasdetection failings reported.

Maby the recent firmware update will solve this problem.

Another possibility is that you have "something in the way".
You say that it happend before on nearly the same position.
Did you try to move the printhead to that position by menu and see what happens?
