Using E3D Titan with IR sensor?

Hello everyone,

First of all, I know that the stock extruder is more than enough & in most cases switching to other extruders is more of a downgrade.

But I’ve a Titan extruder lying around & I’m really tempted to give it a try to see if it give any improvements.

So far, I’ve only found designs like this which doesn’t use the IR sensor.

Does anybody know of any design which uses both the Titan & the IR?

Thanks.

Have you considered using a Mini, type filament sensor housing just before the extruder?

@joantabb

Awesome. Looks like the Prusa mini filament sensor is just the thing I need. I’ll just place it on top of the Titan.
There’s also another design from Bondtech which can be used.
Thanks man.

Update: For future readers,

I’ll go without any Filament sensor now. After a while I’ll get the BTT Smart Filament sensor. It can also sense clogging.
Plus, the price(15$) is cheaper than prusa mini filament sensor(20$)
