Unwanted filament change request

I’m making a fence post cap, first attempt in PLA for prototyping. Final in white PETG. The gcode had NO M600 codes in it. First attempt, the printer (i3 mk3) stop once to ask for a filament change. The second piece, stopped 4 times for a filament change....

Sliced using Slic3r PE 1.4.0 with latest firmware. Now, I turned off the filament sensor and seems to be on the 3rd piece....

Seems like a bug no?

Re: Unwanted filament change request

Issue with the filament sensor probably...

possible accumulated dust in the sensor chamber...

seems that shiny filaments, and translucent filaments give issues... I am wondering if I should try painting the inside of the sensor chamber matt black

I’ll try cleaning the sensor, but turning off the sensor seems to stop the issue for now.
I’ll clean the sensor and retry another print with the same filament and report back tomorrow.

I have the same problem recently.
Please let us know the result after cleaning the sensor.
Thanks in advance.
