SuperPINDA not working so super - do I need a new one?

Prusa i3 MK3S+ with latest firmware (checked on that yesterday).

I'm having problems with calibrating my Z axis and I think the problem is my SuperPINDA. When I try to calibrate the Z axis, when reaching the 2nd calibration point, at the middle front of the bed,  the print head moves down and starts pushing on the print bed. If I don't shut off the printer quickly at this point, it reboots. I'm using just the main heating element print bed for the tests, without any metal sheet or anything on it. (I've seen, in the Prusa knowledge base, several sections that say to remove the metal plate before calibrating.)

I tested my SuperPINDA with a flat metal scraper. Normally the red LED on the top of the SuperPINDA is on and it turns off when I bring the metal near it. Also, I have the LCD panel menu set to show the sensor status and it changes from 0 to 1 when I bring the metal close to it. So my SuperPINDA is detecting metal. When it goes near the print bed, the LED goes off. the problem seems to happen when the SuperPINDA reaches near this point, a screw, holding the bed on:

I've tested this by lowering the print head (by moving it along the Z axis in the Settings->Axis Movement) until the LED on the SuperPINDA goes out. So it comes down and detects the print bed. But then, as I move it along the X axis, when the SuperPINDA nears this metal screw (circled in red in the photo), the LED goes on. When I go through and check the value for it, it's 0 - no metal detected. If I keep moving it along the X axis, after it passes the screw the LED goes off again and a check on the sensor value again shows a 1.

So my SuperPINDA is detecting the bed, EXCEPT when it nears a screw. I've found it's not reading the presence of the bed when it nears this screw in the middle (and when it's in the middle, trying to probe and find the bed) and when it's also on the front right.

Do I need a new SuperPINDA? If now, what is going on? I've already adjusted the SuperPINDA by lowering it to closer to the print bed and it still does not detect the bed when it's near one of these screws.

What do I need to do to fix this?

(Note: This is part of a frustrating month that started with my printer bed calibration failing, which I asked about over a month ago, and has also lead to another issue along the way, which I posted 2 days ago. So far no help and I'm not sure where to do - and I'm not even getting comments on whether I've written confusing posts or if there's something I've done wrong or need to do so I can get help and make my printer work again.)

This is a known issue with 3.13 please install 3.13.2 rc1 from https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases

Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models

Yes! After countless adjustments and re-tries on this, I updated to 3.13.2-rc1 and everything calibrated and went smoothly. That is SUCH a relief, since I was trying to get answers to all the different ways this showed problems for over a month and now I can print again!

I know I can check on GitHub, under releases, to see what's new in upcoming and current releases, but where should I check in the future to see if a problem like this is the result of a known bug in the firmware?

Look under the issues tag that will have all the known/reported bugs

Thanks!

I had mixed up the timeline in my head and thought I had updated significantly before I had issues. Usually I remember that kind of thing and watch for bugs after an upgrade. I'll remember to check for bugs when I have issues in the future.
