Stepper driver for Original MK3S+ stepper motors.
Hi,
after my MK4 upgrade I wanted to repurpose the remaining hardware of my MK3S+ to build a CNC.
I think FluidNC is a good choice for the software and I found a nice mainboard ready to use, but I need stepper drivers.
Which stepper drivers do I need? I was thinking on using the 2 Z motors for X and Y because of the nice long spindles, and use the X/Y motors for Z.
Also the actual motor data sheets would be a nice addition as well.
Thank you, Reinhard.

The drivers in the Mk3 are from Trinamic. The Mk3 stepper motors have a current rating of 1A, so it won't take much in the way of a CNC level motor driver. Just don't expect to cut anything but the softest materials. Stall torque is going to be around 0.2kg-cm. Assuming I did the match right, and depending on the lead screw efficiency, you might get 1kg of force.

Thank you for the info. I'm planning to engrave PCB's with it, maybe cut some acrylic.
And if it turns out to not work that great, I can always get some new motors and print some new parts. That's basically half the fun of it, isn't it?
