some problem encountered z leveling enforced error is back. it is now a recurring problem

where is the page for factory reset instructions? I have the problem of mesh bed leveling failing at the point closest to the bed heater connection point # 3 as the mesh leveling count down is almost done.

The message “some problem encountered z leveling enforced" is seen and it runs the X carriage up till both z stepper motors stall and It will go around and around failing at the same point 3 each timeuntill you hit reset or turn it off.

Note that the Pinda is flashing normally with each of the 3 taps at each point. I checked for an intermittent fault by flexing its cable and looking at its state display .

this happened on Sunday in exactly the same way and I was told to do a factory reset and restart the commissioning of the printer from the pinda stage after lowering the Pinda (which was 1mm higher than the tip of the nozzle to being 0.7mm above that point then on to the long process of a full recalibration… and here we are just a few days later and the problem is back.

So it is now a recurring problem and "fixing" it with a reset is not a full solution.

after a long session on chat they have decided it is a bum PINDA and a replacement PINDA has been dispatched.... in the meantime I can work on the printer by doing the full wipe factory reset and recalibrate every time this problem crops up.... I wonder what the QA failure rate on these PINDAs is when the get them from the manufacturer.

I now have the same problem (after heatbed replacement). Each time at calibration step 5. Sometime after a couple of time calibratie Z it will go on but mostly I have to power of and restart again.

the replacement PINDA fixed it for me.

I had this same issue. It would error out on me at points 7, 6, and 1 (every point on the right side of the board). The issue turned out to be a problem with the trapezoidal nuts fitting inside the x-end-idler plastic part. The trapezoidal nuts would spin smoothly, but when they were put inside the x-end-idler there was some pressure as the fit was too tight and didn't line up with the trapezoidal nut. So, it was ever so slightly messing up the z-axis alignment. I sanding the fitting and it now spins smoothly. Now, the problem is gone!

It wasn't an issue with the PINDA for me. My PINDA worked fine. It also, wasn't an issue solely with the trapezoidal nut, but rather the fitting of the trapezoidal nut inside the x-end-idler plastic part. You can see the issue below for more details on what the nut should spin like. Note though, that even if the trapezoidal nuts spin smoothly, they must spin smoothly when placed inside the x-end-idler. Very difficult problem to solve, but I haven't run into this issue since I fixed this fitting.

I received the new upgrade kit from Prusa MK3s and installed and updated all new software, firmware and drivers. To print the new parts, I am now receiving "encountering z levelling enforced error", what is the reason and how to fix the problem.

Re: some problem encountered z leveling enforced error is back. it is now a recurring problem

My Mk3 has been running well since build last year.

I recently loaded 3.6.0 and with PLA it seemed OK,though I did have one occurrence of "z levelling enforced". However, this weekend I hit this "z levelling enforced" error while attempting to print PETG virtually every time.

WHERE it stopped during bed levelling check was not consistent , but mid right more than others (if it was doing it, it was never beyond mid right, but sometimes on first or second).

IF it managed to get through the test, the print was OK.

Rather than mess with a long term adjusted working machine, and with no actual visual symptoms other than the cessation and repeat Z levelling after it triggered, I have reverted firmware back to 3.4.1.

And Guess What..................................... NO "Z LEVELLING ENFORCED" ANY MORE, and it is printing PETG perfectly!!

SO, what actual problem is it finding? Seems to me from this, nothing!

Since my post yesterday, I have continued to make perfect prints on 3.4.1 firmware with no adjustments or alterations.

Several, all good, with no "z levelling enforced" occurrences.

Whatever 3.6 is changing, the printer does not like it.

I have the same problem - My MK3 gives a consistent Z leveling error with firmware 3.6.0 but downgrading back to 3.4.1 works fine. Usually fails at point 6 but sometimes at the first point (9) also. What changed with 3.6.0 to cause this? I am not using MK3S, but the correct MK3, double checked just now.

As of yesterday I was asked to load 3.7.0 and report back.

So far I have not managed to get it to fail bed calibration. 😎

Im having this problem, my printer is only a week old so I am very new to this, other than trying to get an old firmware is there another fix?

Prusa Support does not use these boards they a set up for user to user support... they also are very slow using email for support but their chat support system is very good

contact prusa online chat system 24/7 support
log into your account on one of the prusa store pages and in the bottom right corner you will see the Chat system box click in it enter your Invoice number for you Prusa and start the chat system they do an excellent job and will take good care of you.

I just received my built printer Monday with 3.6. I printed a logo and a benchy.👍
Today I started a maker coin print and i encountered this error. I upgraded to 3.7 and still get the error. I’ll try loading 3.4. 😢

I've now started getting this error repeatedly again, on firmware 3.7.0... Using the 9x9 leveling, it will run through 1, 5, 30+ of the test zones, and then beep and do the z leveling again.  Getting frustrating.

Can confirm this behaviour as well with the newest firmware 3.7.0.

EDIT: Also the drivers page is throwing a 502 error now.

I've been sent a new pinda probe after discussing with support, unfortunately my mmu2s also arrived, and I haven't had time to tinker with all of that yet...

RE: some problem encountered z leveling enforced error is back. it is now a recurring problem

experienced the same error. Always when bed-leveling a 3th point, once at 2nd point.
It gave the error-message and started a Z-calibration, and after executing this test, restarted .. but got into a loop of the same error.
Had to RESET the MK3S to get out of this loop.

Tried a First-Layer-calibration but this also gave the same error.

TLDR at the bottom!!

i read some posts regarding this problem, learning ...

.. that it sometimes gets resolved by downgrading firmware: so I think this has to do with the self-test-level being to critical. I think that some resistance in the Z-direction could provoke this.

Something else I thought about was the fact that I use -with great succes- 3D-lac. That is a spray (I read somewhere that it is in fact hairspray re-labeled) that gets applied on the bed and sticks very well when heated.
It is easely cleaned with some hot water and soap, which disolves the product.
I use the spray before every print and clean the bed after about 20 prints ...
Once every month I also clean my bed, actually the steel sheet (textured) thoroughly with water+soap and then with a good wipe of Acetone.

... but I do not clean the rest of the machine as regulary.
I had the idea that maybe my PNDA-probe could have had a build up of some residue of the spray?

These are just my thoughts ...

******************
TLDR: SO this is what i did:

  • disassembled the trapezoid nuts,
    cleaned the threaded rods,
cleaned the Trapezoid nuts. Applied a very slight spray of Silicone spray on these parts to make the movement as smooth as possible.
re-tuned level of both ends of the X-cariage (just measuring them so that both were on the same level with some calipers).
  • Disassembled the PINDA, cleaned it thorougly (used, alcohol and cloth) ...
    remounted it,
    re-tuned hight of the PINDA
  • did a full calibration (calibration-wizard) ...

And everything was OK again.

My money is on the PINDA-probe ... but I can't be sure.

Ayhow, it works again.

I had the same error. Downgraded to 3.53 and it works great now. I guess the higher firmwares don't like pet.
