SLIC3R suggestion - use deceleration to prevent wobbling of the print
We all know a tall print can have issues because of the side to side movements and the print itself wobbling from the change in direction of the bed. A suggestion to resolve this would be to have an option to use a deceleration algorithm. Imagine instead of an abrupt change of direction instead a more gentle deceleration prior to the direction reversal and maybe even an acceleration. This could prevent the side effects of issues with tall prints.

Accel (and decel) are already in there, but isn't normally layer dependent. With a bit imagineering in the custom gcode you could probably get something similar in effect.

Somebody has posted a post-processing script to reduce jerk on tight corners. A similar approach might work for height, although I'd worry about inconsistent finish. For quality, I'd be inclined to just reduce acceleration for the entire print.
