Slic3r : Print Settings lost when setting new nozzle
Hi everyone,
I am quite new to Prusa Slic3r, and I enjoy a lot my mk3!
I think I covered the basics, and now I am starting to play with different nozzle sizes and something strange is happening in Slic3r.
When I create a new printer profile for a 0.3 nozzle, I lose all the default print settings.
It didn't happen when I created a 0.6 profile, so I don't quite understand.
Am i missing something there ?
Thanks

The settings disappear if they are incompatible with the other settings you are selecting. If you look at the flags next to the settings, green is what you need.
Probably, Bobstro's page gives the best explanation. I have linked the page, it is at the bottom in a green box. http://projects.ttlexceeded.com/3dprinting_slic3r_profiles.html

Thanks a lot!
I have materials to work on now 😉

Glad to help!
Bobstro has a download with a setting for a 0.30MM nozzle on his page you can use as a template, but when you upload it you will get like 15 profiles. You can delete the ones you don't need and when you create Gcodes you will get an error message due to the post processing script in output options of print settings unless you delete the script and put in a space before saving it.

I'm working on some scripts to make it easier for me to maintain the collection, at which time I can create individual profiles for download. For now, you can either delete those you don't need after importing into slicer, or edit the .ini file beforehand. The updated profiles will be a lot more consistent and (hopefully) easier to maintain.

Heh. I'll make sure the scripts remove the post-processing stuff beforehand. Thanks for reminding me.

Bobstro:
No problems and no complaints, the info and work you did are great and useful to gauge homemade profiles against since yours do work...
Your page says the scripts will cause an error message unless you delete them, so I deleted the script and saved and still got an error message... 😕 Went back and the script was back 😕 . The only way I could get it to stick was to delete the script and put in a space or semi colon and then save again. It is not a problem and the error message does not prevent the gcode, but I wanted to offer what I found to work to permanently delete the script.
When creating my own new nozzle profiles, I was very confused since looking at the settings Prusa used for the 0.25MM and 0.60MM nozzles preset in Slic3 PE they had the same settings at the 0.4mm nozzle... The comments to the Prusa Blog on nozzles confirmed this and without your profiles to compare to, It would have been much harder to try and create my own, so thank you.

Thanks a lot guys, at least it's working in Slic3r!
I'll let you know if the print went well 😉
