Slic3r PE and PrusaControl "top" layer problem
I'm slicing a simple model that has a platform and three rails. When Slic3r PE and PrusaControl come to the top of the platform they both fill in the entire surface before continuing on to create the thin rails. Simplify3D and Cura take a more "conservative" approach. The difference in the printed result is significant. Slic3r PE (and I assume PrusaControl) display an artifact at that level while the prints produced with Simplify3D and Cura do not. I've seen this same difference when printing a simple box. The box pictures are from months ago so this has been an issue with Slic3r for a long time. (having trouble attaching more than 3 files so I'll post the others in replies to my post)

here are the printed results (artifact - Slic3r) no artifact (Simplify3D and Cura)

Re: Slic3r PE and PrusaControl "top" layer problem
It's been a problem for a while, box on left was sliced with Cura, box on right was sliced with Slic3r - several months ago.

Re: Slic3r PE and PrusaControl "top" layer problem
I've been noticing this since I started printing back in February. I suggest you take this over to the Github page and report it as a bug. With all of the information you've provided maybe we can get a fix.
