SD Card problems

Hi All,

I've been printing from a SD card with no problems for ~50 prints. I put the SD card in the printer, it recognises immediately, I choose my g-code file and off it goes. Easy.

Today I tried to print again, and this time the i3 mk3 wouldn't recognise the SD card. (my computer did read/write the new g-code to the SD card fine)

I did the suggested steps of making sure the card was clean, inserted properly, shutting down the printer and restarting with the card in the slot and nothing worked. Was only getting "Prusa i3 MK3 OK" on the display screen. (not "Card Removed")

Next I tried inserting the card different amounts and putting light pressure on it in different directions. This time I would intermittently get the files to display, and then I'd get the "Card Removed" prompt on the display. Once I was able to select my g-code and start a print, however the print stalled after calibration. I'm guessing there is no onboard memory in the prusa controller and files are printed directly from the card, and it's likely that the tenuous connection I had made was interrupted as it started the print.

Next I reformatted the SD card (FAT32), reloaded my g-code and tried again. Nothing.

Finally I removed the control board and looked at the SD card reader's soldered connections and they all look good (see below). Everything about he card reader slot looks clean and the printer had not been moved or jostled in any way between the time it worked and when it stopped reading the SD Card

Anyone got any other ideas?

RE: SD Card problems

Try replacing the SD card and if that fails, I would contact support by chat and see if they have suggestions.
