Replaced extruder today, ran one hour and now reboots on heating
Support,
I just received a replacement MK3S extruder yesterday. It has the correct tag that it is for the MK3S, same as the one I removed. It is plugged into the correct connectors. Cables were seated correctly as before. Reason for replacing the extruder is that it had leaked near the heat break and has PLA all over it. I loaded a file and it ran for just a little over an hour. Came to find it frozen mid print. I used the menu to move the Z axis up and check the printer. I set the menu to preheat to remove the filament in the extruder. At that time it goes to heat then reboots. I tested that the bed will heat and its fine. If I load the extruder to heat, the system reboots. What has happened and what do I need to do to get this fixed. Nothing is wired incorrectly.

Check the heater wires aren't shorting to the heater block. It's very easy to bend them such that they contact the shell and short.

Thanks, I contacted support and we did some troubleshooting. It was not a shorted or broken wire. I'm getting a replacement. Thanks. And tip my hat to the support person. Very patient and understanding! Someone owes him a dinner, lol.
