PrusaSlicer 2.0: how to limit speed for a flex filament

Hopefully this isn't obvious, I have looked myself. Here goes:
I have created a filament profile for some TPU filament and I would like to slow down the print speed for this filament. I don't see an obvious way to set this in the filament profile, only in the print settings. Is there a way to override this per-filament?

lower the volumetric speed. its there someplace, I am not by a slicer to look.  I had luck with setting it to 3. I'm sure it can go faster, but 3 worked.

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that setting, but I was hoping for a linear measurement because most of the specs for filament are linear, like 30mm/sec  or 80mm/sec. I guess I just do layer height x layer width x linear speed.

 

I think layer width defaults to 0.4-0.45mm

ya its not perfect, when it does change speeds you should see like 50% on the printer. it's odd. but it works. if your using the mmu make sure to slow down the load and unload speed also.

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

For anyone else that finds this thread, here's the math I ended up using.

  • 0.45mm extrusion width. I got this from the "0.20 QUALITY MK3" profile
  • 0.20mm layer height. This is the layer height I am using.

w x h = 0.45 * 0.20 = 0.09 square mm. 0.09mm^2
I can then take various linear speeds and get max volumetric speed

  • 0.09 x 30mm/sec = 2.7 cubic mm/sec (2.6mm^3)
  • 0.09 x 60mm/sec = 5.4 cubic mm/sec (5.4mm^3)
  • 0.09 x 80mm/sec = 7.2 cubic mm/sec (7.2mm^3)

Since this Cheetah TPU is rated for 60-80mm, I put 5.4mm / sec in the filament profile's max volumetric speed. When I resliced, I confirmed it is a bit slower than the previous time I sliced.
