Problems with my screen
Hello. I have a MK3s printer bought back on August 2020. I has been several months without printing anything, but this week, when I switched it on, I found that there were a couple of areas in the screen that were missing: in the first and second rows, at the right part of them (as you can see in the image attached), "m" letter of "filament" in the first row is not complete, and "n" letter of "filament in the second row the same. Each "screen rectangle" for the letters are 5 "pixels" width, but in those ones, the last "pixel" is missing....
Just in case, I updated the firmware to the last version available (3.10.1-4697), but the problem continued. After some hours of printing, the problem seemed to has been solved "magically"... But yesterday, the same proble arose.
Has anyone of you experienced this problem or do you know which could be the cause?

Try to push the lcd screen to see if the dead pixels come back to life. If so, try this:
There are bent metal tabs on the back side of the front PCB with the display on it. See the picture: https://imgur.com/DPH8NZz
These tabs are pulling the black frame towards the PCB to retain tension between the LCD itself, conductive pads inbetween and the PCB. You might try to reach the bent pads with needle-nose pliers or another tool and tighten them up a bit more to get rid of the loose contact between the aforementioned parts. Try to do so while also pushing the black frame towards the PCB with your hand. Also, let us know if it helped 🙂

You might check that the LCD cable are connected OK; i.e. not loose, dirty. Removing them and a shot of contact cleaner might help. Sometime cable connections corrode a bit when sitting. It's easy enough to remove/connect them a few times to clean the contacts.

Thank you for your advice. Unfortunatelly it didn't worked. I started removing the case from the LCD to verify that the problem didn't came from the case pressing too much the LCD (according to https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/lcd-screen-not-working_2098).
After that, I unplugged both cables from both ends (LCD and Einsy Rambo), and cleaned the contacts (in the cables themselves and in the boards) with a specific "Dry Contacts cleaner without residues", but the screen still shows this problem.

Wonderfull!!!!!! It worked!!! I couldn't reach to all the pads without separating the LCD board from the other board (due to the pin connections), but I could reach and tighten six out of eight and now those pixels have come back to live 🙂

After a while they went away again 🙁 but at least it seems that the problem came from this issue, and I will try to tighten them a little more....

At the end it seems like that the solution was a "mix" between tightening the LCD pads, and also that I needed some more pressure of the case against the LCD board, that I soved with a small piece of paper under the flap that support the board to the case (see attached). Not the cleanest solution, but seems to work, hehehe...
