I know Bob's not a fan of the Flashair cards but I have one in my mk3 and a second in my cr10s. I really like them.
I want to like them! I'm just getting poor results using MacOS. I did begrudgingly buy a replacement for other reasons, so have one installed again. Single small file transfers work fine, but multiple files always seem to choke or get corrupted via WebDAV. I'm now 2 for 2 with problems using them.
[...] Both printers are mapped drives in Win10 (P and S) and I basically just drag the files over to them. I dont mind starting the print off from the lcd's though as I'm a firm believer in making sure the first layer goes down without a hitch. If you are there checking that first layer then its not any hardship to start the print off anyway.
MacOS insists on asking for a username and password, so I have to check the anonymous box every time I send a file using the native file manager alternatives. An FTP client connects without fuss, but still times out regularly. When it works it's great! I just find it pricey for what it provides versus close to the same money for a full OctoPi setup.

I have the same problem, a fix is to save it locally then copy onto the SD.

At first I listened suggestions not to print via USB but only via SD card. Soon it became frustration that I haf to go to the procedure of removing card from printer (especially until I found out that it is safe to remove and insert card without turning printer off), sticking it into PC copying, ejecting, sticking back into printer and then printing.
It was especially annoying when I did short test prints to correct some stuff in models.
So I searched how to print form PC directly and found out that Pronterface is meant to do that. Tried it, it worked. Pronterface is quite odd software but it serves purpose and helps a lot. At first i printed from PC only very short prints, but recently i tried even longer ones and they worked fine too.
That said, printing from SD card is the safest method. I do use it for important and big prints, or often repeated prints.

there is a little switch on the side of the card. that is a write protect switch slide it and see if that helps
