Printer not heating correctly. Temperature problem with no error

Hello we own a MK3S printer with some mysterious temperatur problem.

What happens is that it does not start heating properly. If I start the machine from scratch(cold) it will start heating and reach correct nozzle temp. Sometime it starts printing before reaching set temperature and ofc fails.

When it fails and I try to stop and start a new print temperature dosent rise, it just falls down to 60 degrees which is the setpoint on nozzle after aborting print. While bed setpoint is 0.

There are no errors, and as far as I know there have been no crashes or anything out of the ordinary that explains this behaviour

Ive tried a numerous calibrations etc without any luck. Hopefully you have some tips I can check out.

The point about printing the Prusa models on the sd card gcode is its known good gcode with all the correct commands to preheat the bed and nozzle.

if your slicer start gcode is not set up correctly for some reason in whatever slicer you are using then the commands to heat the nozzle and bed and wait till they reach temperature might not be in any model you slice, so of course the printer won’t heat up as it won’t have been told to. Even if the hardware and firmware is perfect.
‘when you preheat for load filament the temperatures are coming from the firmware and that’s working. That men’s the hardware is ok and the firmware can command the hardware to heat. That pretty much leaves a slicer/gcode issue as the most likely problem. Printing the default models would prove that one way or another.

You could also post either gcode that is failing or the actual project (save project as... which will save a .3mf with ALL your settings, if you are using Prusa slicer) and we could take a look to see if anything looks amiss.

Do you have this problem when printing one of the pre-sliced sample gcode files?

Might have to try, but I think it will fail on thoose aswell. Because when it starts cold it have a decent chance to get the print going.

I ghought I had corrected the problem before the holidays and was starting the 1st print this year now. It was a cylinder wich failed and lost grip to plate and so this problem occured again.

Will get back to you with a better answer next week bob 🙂

Oh and Load/Unload filemant, setting temperature manually and temperature calibration is going without a hitch.

Firmware was not upgraded when the problem started. Tried newest firmware without luck.

Seems to be a gcode problem indeed. Tried to print a couple of older print again. But that might have something to do with the firmwire upgrade?

Started a couple of new print on more or less default PLA settings. Hopefully problem is solved.

Thanks for the help.
