Print issue…

Just wondered whether anyone can help with this. It's not a huge issue, but I'd quite like to understand why it might happen and how to fix it.

I created three power brick holders in Fusion360 and exported them, via the [utilities][make] tab to PrusaSlicer 2.6.1

I use the standard 0.15mm QUALITY preset, adding supports and a brim.

When the items finished printing the power bricks they're designed for fit fine, but there's an odd 'step' where the back part of the component has been extruded to form the sides.

In Fusion360 this is a single sketch which firstly forms the back plate and then the sides are extruded up out of it - it's NOT two parts joined together.

As mentioned this doesn't affect functionality, but it would be good to be able to fix the error.

The pics show one of the components, the others are of a similar design and exhibit the same issue at the same points.

RE: Print issue…

Not sure but this could be another example of the long running "bulge" issue.

There are several threads you might want to look through. TL;DR: No universal fix.

RE: Print issue…

I just ran into this on a large print.  Will have to read Fuchsr's links.
