Print head crashed and wandered
I'm wondering what might have caused this: I was doing a small ASA print -- the first print in a heated chamber. The chamber was kept under 40C as I read the MK3S+ should not be heated above 40C without higher temp parts. The first layer was going fine and looking good, and then the print head hit the build plate and sort of wandered all over. I stopped the print but the damage was done. I raised the print head and I noticed the PINDA sensor appears to be sagging and canted at a slight angle, but me feeling is that if the PINDA dropped, the sensor would indicate the nozzle is closer to the build plate and compensation would be in the other direction, rather than moving closer to the plate. Any ideas what would cause this?
RE: Print head crashed and wandered
if the pinda drops, the nozzle will be further from the build plate, next time

RE: Print head crashed and wandered
That's what I thought -- not sure why the head crashed into the build plate, though. Somebody suggested in another forum it might be the 2.9.0 slicer build. I upgraded to the 2.9.1 alpha and we'll see how that goes. Going to be a costly fix, though.
RE: Print head crashed and wandered
I have not had problems with 2.9.0 on my Mk3S
but I guess anything, is possible
Best wishes,
Joan
