Print does not recognize SD card

I a have been having a problem for over a year and Prusa has not been able to resolve it.

The print seems to know that the SD card has been inserted (look at step by step photos), but the screen shows that the folder is empty and then removed.

I have taken numerous steps to try and sort this out:

1. Changed SD cards.

2. Replaced Einsy board.

3. Reflashed.

4. Removed MMU2 and reset to factory setting/ back to i3 MK3

I am not sure what else I am supposed to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Peter

RE: Print does not recognize SD card

The LCD module is known to have problems when reading SD cards. There is a metal shell that bends with use and once it has bent too far the SD becomes intermittent. Try holding the card, putting a little bit of pressure up or down and see if that helps 'seeing' the card. If it does, there is a mod available on Thinguverse - a plastic wedge - that you can fit into the LCD case that is said to improve things.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for you fast reply.

I have tried this and it does not work either. The only thing I can think of now, is to replace the two circuit boards that the LCD screen is attached to?

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks in advanced,

Regards,

Peter

If you've been having a problem for that long, why hasn't support offered a replacement LCD board ?

The only other solution when that plastic piece doesn't help is to manually rebend the SD reader shell (what I did - after which I was a lot more careful how I inserted the SD card); or replace the board,  Which reminded me, try inserting the SD card, once it bottoms out, pulling the SD card out a millimeter or two and then printing.  This might help verify it is the reader. On some, I think folks were saying the card stopped reading when fully inserted. Pulling it out a bit made better contact.

I have tried improving the contact of the SD card with the reader, this did not help.

I have also bought a new LCD board. This has not helped.

I cannot think of anything to do now. I think it is fit for the bin.

I am having this error log when I try and re-flash. Would this have anything to do with the SD card not being read?
