Peheat error help please
Hi, I disassembled hot end to change pfte tube due to filament blockage - then when I put everything back together I now get a preheat error and the nozzle temperature wont heat past 149degrees...googling/prusa help pages suggests its a heatbreak/heatsink/heaterblock problem.. but how do I find out which it is so can try fix/buy new part? Or could it be something else much simpler? I'm very novice with 3d printers.. if anyone can help I would appreciate, thanks 👍
RE: Peheat error help please
Did you separate the heatbreak/hot end or just pull the ptfe tube out of the back? If so, you do need to have heat sink compound in the threads on the upper part. Also make sure that the thermistor is installed properly as well as the heat cartridge.
Ensure that the connectors are properly seated on the Einsy board. Check for damaged cables.
A whole hot end is not that expensive and from my experience, it is worth having a second one. I would look at replacing with one of the better replacements, that is my plan.
RE: Peheat error help please
The heating system is a closed loop process and if you have a problem with the thermistor, the heating element will go to maximum and eventually burn out. In the settings menu, you can control the temperature slowly and if you can try to see if that regulates the temperature to a 30 or 40 degree temperature while measuring it with a digital meat thermometer on the hot end. If you are careful, you will be able to control the heat and prevent the heating element from burning out. I am suspecting a damaged thermistor lead.
