"Pause after current layer" feature request

I like to minimize waste and use every gram of filament from a spool that I possibly can. The easiest way to do this would be to just feed a new roll in right behind the end of an old roll for truly zero waste, but more often than not in my attempts at this I just cause jams and then ruin the entire print and make tons of waste instead.

There is the "pause print" feature and, when timed just right, you can pause the print while infill is being printed, swap the filament and resume, and there will be no visible evidence of the pause and swap because the evidence will be sealed on the interior of the print. And that's okay, but what I would really like is a "Pause after current layer" option where, as implied, it completes printing the layer it's currently on, and then pauses and awaits further command, like initiating a filament swap. The extra wiggle room in the timing that such a feature would afford users would be handy.

I know you can add in pauses in the slicer, but that's only useful if you know precisely which layer you would need to pause to minimize waste, which one usually doesn't.

RE: "Pause after current layer" feature request

You should just get a SUNLU Filament Connector FC01. Amazon has them for $40. When the spool is getting close to running out I unreel the running spool and join the end of filament to the beginning of the new spool and then wind all on the new spool. No pausing the print, which can lead to problems in and of itself. Plus you can pick the time to join the spools eliminating the need to "wait for just the right time".

A link to the Filament Connector is listed below.
