Noisy non-printing moves in stealth mode
I really like how quiet the MK3 is in stealth mode. I have it running in my appartment over night and it is inaudible.
Well, it used to be. Lately, I noticed loud non-print moves even in stealth mode. I am not sure, but would guess it got worse with the latest FW 3.5.0. I had to reduce the speed of the printing moves to 50 mm/s and non-printing to 30 mm/s to get it back to silent mode.
Is this a bug or intentional? Sifting through all recent commits on github is rather difficult and I have not been able to find out if there were recent firmware changes in motor current (or control mode).

Re: Noisy non-printing moves in stealth mode
you're talking about travel moves?
try some move commands in terminal to see if its tied to a certain speed or axis

Re: Noisy non-printing moves in stealth mode
I tried moving the print head in Pronterface and the machine is very noisy at 3000 mm/min, but quiet at 2000 and 4000.
BTW this is with modified (no fan whine for PETG) 3.4.1 firmware.
It seems there is some kind of resonance at 3000 mm/min (50 mm/s). Unfortunately we can't tell Slic3r to keep away from this speed, so it has to be below it (looks like 30 mm/s max).

I just went through a lot of headache troubleshooting resonance (buzzing/rattling) above 5000 in stealth mode. The biggest source of noise was Y bearings, followed by PSU and then finally the X bearings. I had to run a script with different speed moves to finally pinpoint the exact source of the noises.
Even with the metal sheet removed the PSU was noisy so I finally gave up and removed it. misumi bearings ands rods on X, igus on Y, and now its perfect.
