MK3S Upgrade What would you reccomend?

I'm about to print off parts for the MK3S upgrade from a MK3.  Totally comfortable printing in PETg and ASA (have plenty of both in Black).
Planning to replace all the bearings while I have it apart, and give everything a tighten and cleanup.

What would you print in ASA, and what would you print in PETg?
Would you recommend going with the current MK3S extruder body or one of the Bunny Designs?  (I print a decent amount of TPU as well as PETg, and ASA.  Very little PLA.)

I have one Bondtech and one from bunny science.  Both work as designed.  The first update I made was a new print sheet from theKKIINNGG.

Hi Charles,

Do you print TPU at all?  Any opinion on wether the latest Prusa design fixes the issues with TPU, or is Bunny the only way to go (if you care about TPU).

I also cant see any issue with printing all the extruder parts in ASA instead of PETg since some have reported issues with heat or sagging.. Wondering if anyone else has tried that..

@ewr2san

I print TPU all the time.  No issue with any of the 3 designs I have used.

@ewr2san

I'll probably recommend to use Petg for dimensional stability.

You can use the ASA for the fan shroud as it will handle the temperature a lot better than Petg.

Well now you've got me curious.  I always assumed that ASA was as (or better) dimensional stability as long as it didnt warp.. Time to print test cubes 😛

ASA is prone to warping, shrinking and cracking.

I have parts printed with ASA (from filamentum) which are absolutely great and fit the purpose but I will still go for the Petg for the extruder parts.

I did the test by printing the stock extruder parts and it didn't turn out great for me. You might have a different outcome.

Well, Prusa included a 300g roll of black PETg in the kit, so I kinda felt obligated to go with that.

Decided to re-do the bearings while im at it, and the belts as well.
