LCD white squares after thermistor change

Hello all, I recently had to change my thermistor because it wore out. I used this one. Now, whenever I turn on the printer, I just get a bunch of white squares on the screen. All of the connections are fine and it also does this when the new thermistor is unplugged. The printer is recognized by windows when plugged in, but I cant connect to it in pronter face.

Please help a brother out- Sandwich

It's impossible to say where exactly the problem is (hotend itself can't cause this). It's electrical thing... you must have made some bad connection in wiring contacts, or you shortened some wires/contacts during the assembly. There's no other way but checking all again.. if you connected wires into the right place on board, etc.

Pull the LCD plugs, check there are no bent pins, clean with switch cleaner (or acetone if you're confident), reinsert in correct orientation.

Check operation.

If still not working repeat the procedure at the LCD end.

Check operation.

If still not working pull the plugs at both ends and use a multimeter to run a continuity check...

Cheerio,

Reseting the board

I pressed the reset button on the board and that fixed everything, why?
