LCD say 170, but print head is 250+ and smoking
During a PC Blend print, the printer stopped and the print head started smoking. Now when set to PLA 215/60, the LCD stops increasing current temperature around 170, but the print head continues increasing temperature. Measured at 250+ and then it starts smoking the filament.

it is very likely to be a thermistor issue.
better replace it and the heater cartrige too.
I'm not an expert. Ma parlo anche italiano 😉

If you have a multimeter, I would measure the internal resistance of the thermistor. The value should be at 25grad C. room temperature approx. 100kohms, internal resistance of the heating catridge about 14.4 ohms.

@karl-herbert
I have tested both old and new hotends and thermistors.
At 25c: thermistors 100k / cartridges 14
Although I can not see a problem (burn) on the board, I have ordered a new one

I’m having the same problem except mine says 140. I replaced my thermistor and heater cartridge and I’m still having this problem. Seems to be coming up a lot in the forum...
