Issues with color change
I always run into an issue when I change colors using Prusa Slicer. If I am at the printer shortly after it is ready for a color change, it is always hard to get the filament out of the printer and often a blockage is created. The only solution I have is to be at the printer right at the point it moves over for the color change or wait for the print head to cool down and then let it heat back up. Does anyone else experience this or have a solution?
What does the end of the old filament look like when you pull it out?

Not sure I can really say accurately.. I have to forcibly pull it out until it snaps off so I usually just wait for it to cool down and then heat it back up and it comes right out.
So is it a blob, a wasp waisted blob or a long string..?

When it gets stuck and i pull it off forcibly it is a sharp point.
Does that mean it was a wasp waisted blob before you pulled it?
Is this a new machine or one that has been running OK for a year or so?

Yes.
Machine is about a year old. It has always been this way since i started playing with printing multi-colors
Take a look at this page, it's about the MMU but it might help you with your unloads...

RE: Issues with color change
This is not an MMU. I'm doing a manual color change based on creating a color change in Prusa Slicer.
RE: Issues with color change
Definitely doesn't sound normal. Does it try to eject the filament but it's stuck? Do you have a video of what's happening!?
