How to create/select filament profile in the printer?

Dear All,

This question is probably an easy one for experienced printers..

I just changed for a new roll of PLA from a different manufacturer which needs slightly different temperatures selected. I can set them up with no problem in PrusaSlicer for the print.

However, how do I select a different profile in the printer? For calibration, preheat, filament load/unload etc?

I can't seem to find that in the menus... I can only change the current settings. Is there a way to create profiles there? If yes, where?

Thanks for the pointers in advance!!!

No there are no settings you can configure on a prusa printer for that.  The temperature settings for the various materials options are hardcoded into the firmware at compile time.

Normally you just pick the closest for the preheat etc.  Most materials of the same type will only really vary by 10 or so degrees, which is close enough for loading/unloading etc.

If you really want customised ones then just create some simple gcode files and add them to the printers sd card.  You can then use Print from SD card and it will run the gcode.  That gcode can be set to make it do whatever temperatures you want.  As long as you put it in the root or the first folder it is always easy to access.

Thank you for the quick answer! However, I noticed that the linked page talks only about profiles in Pruse Slicer, which I am aware of.

What I would like to know is that without a computer/slicer/etc, just on the printer how I can create/select  filament profiles.
