Hotend termistor replacement

Hi everyone,

unfortunately one of my print failed and significant amount of the filament covered the hot end around the extruder. Trough my attempt to remove the stucked filament, hotend termistor wires get ripped off.
So now I am looking for some appropriate replacement of the hotend termistor.

I've found here on this forum that the mk3 uses the 100K NTC thermister, but I don't know what to look for in the e-shops. Is there difference between mks termistors or are they all same? Should I just look "new cartridge style E3D v6 HotEnd termistor" or is there anything I should be aware of? Do you have any tips/links for the possible hotend termistor replacement?

Thank you for all answers.

Hi Jifi,

I believe it is a Semitec cartridge thermistor.

different thermistors have different performance profiles, so it's a good idea to get the right one!

I ended up buying a need heater block that came with a thermostat on amazon. Getting the heater cartridge out with out destroying the heater block was very hard.

Why not just buying a 40W 24V thermistor from e3d?

Re: Hotend termistor replacement

Hi Michael,

I think you are a little confused,
the heater is rated in watts and voltage,
the thermistor is described by it's resistance... the same thermistor will work on the Mk2 and Mk3
