Flash firmware from SD-Card Directly?

Is there a way to update the firmware by copying the firmware file to the SD Card and clicking on it?  I really really really don't want to have to attach a USB cable from my PC all the way to where I have the printer setup.  The distance is very long to where I have the printer setup, and it would be a real pain to move it.

OctoPrint. Great if your printer is not near your PC. It will can use either WiFi or wired Ethernet and I believe there is a plugin for flashing printer firmware.

Yes, and it works quite well! It has made keeping my printers updated much simpler.

You need a computer connected, be it a laptop or Pi I'm afraid.

For me the Toshiba Flash Air SD is perfect.

I use a FlashAir as well, however it won’t let you flash the printers firmware.

@bobstro

If OctoPrint can flash the firmware then I am definitely buying the Raspberry Pi Zero W attachment.

OctoPrint will definitely do the job, but I'd recommend against using a RPi Zero. The OctoPrint developer specifically says the Zero is not recommended or supported.

Echo bobstro, Zero is no longer fit for purpose. Get either 3B+ or 4 (pretty much same price here). I wonder if there is some way to get Prusa to remove instruction to install Zero? Anyone got any clout with Prusa?
