first layer calibration OK but print not touching bed

i am new on this printer. in the first several trials the nozzle did not drop low enough to press printing bead onto bed. in stead the melt materials blob on nozzle and left nothing on bed. i did first layer calibration before printing everything looks ok, this happens only when i start to print parts. during the failing print attempt the Z value never goes down to expected minus value

thank you for help

Can you check your Live Adjust Z value from the settings menu and see whether it matches the last adjustment you made during the First Layer Cal? If it doesn't, and you remember what that Z value was, you can enter it manually from that setting.

Just be very sure of that value because, if you're too low, you can damage your plate.

It also helped me when I started, no that long ago, to know that the common Live Z Adjust (for Prusament PLA) is between -0.850 and -1.200. They don't put that in the manual, so I was very confused early on when I used much smaller adjustment values and my First Layer Cal was not sticking at all.

@karbonbasedlife

All depends. For my two smooth and two structured sheets the Live Z values are between -0.400 and -0.800.

The important point is that during the Initial Live Z calibration (aka Layer One Calibration) - a new user needs to adjust the nozzle offset - Live-Z - to lower the nozzle down to a proper printing level.

The process is to help prevent damaging the print sheet.
