Firmware, upgrades and a factory reset (all data).

Hi,

I have not used my printer for over a year now, I had upgraded my Mk3 to Mk3S using the plastic upgrades, and used the Mk3S firmware upgrade, then the hotend stopped working and thats when I stopped using it.

Present day, new hotend fitted, cleaned it and upgraded the Mk3S firmware, ran the wizard and all seemed okay, then I had a crash on my first print trial. Now I get the X axis length error and if it goes past that then it is a Y axis length error. So I went back to Mk3 firmware and tried that, but got the same on X and Y, because this kept repeating, I have done a Factory Reset (all data) then when I switch it on now it tells me I have Mk3 firmware in a Mk3S machine. Before the reset I had tried the belt test and got numbers between 250 and 265. Should I go back to the Mk3S firmware? The motors seem to be okay. Belts are not slipping/jumping. Should I diassemble and rebuild?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Have you tried cleaning and lubricating the smooth rods and bearings ?

I did lubricate the smooth rods and still have issues, when the printhead is moved by hand, it feels like it is rough movement. Will attempt to disassemble and remove bearing to check.
Thanks for the reply.
