Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Guys, those who are having problems after flashing, are you using the latest Slic3r PE 1.40.1-beta?
Yes, it was flashed using the Slic3r PE 1.40.1-beta. But nothing changed ... wait till the end of flashing, when printer restarts itself, but still, no luck.
I tried it again with 3.3.0 firmware and now menu with language selection showed at the end of the flashing process. So I do not know what went wrong. Used same Slic3r version, same firmware - but now it works.
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
What is this mess ???
I used octoprint on my linux PC to upgrade the last 3 firmwares with no issues, and I very disappointed with the 3.3.0 firmware, octoprint upgrader display "upgrade successfull", but on the printer you can read "External SPI flash W25X20CL no responding" and printer not functional.
Returned successfully to 3.2.1...
Tried with slic3rPE still on my linux PC, not able to install, an other error message.
Tried with prusa updater on my mac, seems to be ok for the installer but same message on the printer "External SPI flash W25X20CL no responding".

The error in slic3r i received as well, in windows version. I reset the printer and rescanned and retried and it worked.
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
I don't need alternate languages, so I did my firmware upgrade to version 3.3.0 using the Prusa firmwareupdater app. Extremely easy to use. I encountered no problems.
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
For what it's worth, I made a headless (no GUI required) version of the firmware updater, in case you don't have your printer connected to a screen, or you just want things done in a leaner way. Please refer to the related topic if interested: https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help-f64/-ann-unofficial-standalone-firmware-updater-t22764.html

Updated with Slic3r 1.4 stable from 3.2.0 to 3.3.0 without any issues.
No new calibration was required, working fine for me.

does the filament count up during a print? or stay at 0
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Is anyone else seeing that filament is not counting while printing?

can anyone take a look at statistics while printing and let me know if i am the only one having this happen?
Im having the same issue, also since the update I'm having a series of wrapings in all my prints, I'm unable of print overhangs anymore, even after a full recalibration of all axis.

My filament counter is not working either. All else seems to be fine, however, and it is printing without issue.
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
XYZ and First Layer Calibration seems to be way off. With my PINDA at the zip tie spacing I am getting a live Z adjust of -1.125mm in first layer calibration. Yet if I move the PINDA up by one notch to reduce this I get a nozzle crash during the finding the 4 calibration points stage of XYZ calibration.

Seems like Linux Slic3r PE version fw upgrade doesnt work, tried beta and rc1, allways the same message on the printer after upgrade "External SPI flash W25X20CL no responding"
In addition it's necessary to execute Linux slic3r PE in administrator mode to allow writing.

It should also be enough to add yourself to the dialout group.
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Just a simple question:
Is it recommended to re-calibrate the printer after each firmware update ?

❓ ❓
I meant instead of running Slic3rPE in administrator mode, you can add your user to the dialout group by executing
sudo adduser <youruser> dialout
and then you should be able to write to your printer without sudo.

No, you don't have to recalibrate after the FW update. If there is a need for it, for example to improve the calibration results, we will inform you 😉

The automatic temperature calibration and Pinda now also works?
Re: Firmware 3.3.0 for Original Prusa i3 MK3
Bonjour
Sur la version Slic3r 1.40.1 beta la fonction "édition de couche" n'est pas activée, pourquoi ? 😳
