Filament clogged in filament sensor area - how to fix without breaking anything

I was doing a long print for the xmas present (roughly 25h) when I noticed that at some point the filament wasn't flowing through the nozzle anymore. I did stop the print and while removing the filament noticed that it was quite badly "chewed".

Now when I started to investigate, I noticed that my nozzle and hotend are ok. No cloggs there. The problem is in the area (circled in the pic) where the filament sensor is. I'm trying to do the smart thing and understand what to dismantle to be able to repair it and not just push something through it (as I may end up breaking something). Printer was on for some hours after the incident happened --> most likely the small bits of filament that are clogging the area were packed quite tight / those could have been even melting a bit due the friction.

All the advices how to proceed warmly welcome!
