Filament can't enter extruder

This may be a stupid question, and I know I can use chat but I thought I would try this first, since the help chats take a long time.

I recently replaced the hotend in my S3+ after being frustrated by a stuck filament I couldn't resolve.  When I reassembled I found I could not get the filament to load.  What I mean is, when I push the filament through the hole in the top, it does not go through.  Because of the previous bad clog had caused the filament to fray badly, I had had to cut the previous filament above the gears and pull it out forcibly.  I also had to clean up some debris in the chamber.  But now, with the inspection port open, I can't see the inserted filament at all - it only goes down about 15mm, the gear seems to be blocking the hole.  Is that possible? Could it have been shifted somehow?  Is there a guide or video about disassembling and reassembling the Bondtech extruder I can reference?  The assembly guide for the S3+ doesn't go into it, since it is apparently pre-assembled.  Any help or insights appreciated.

Does your new hot end have the PTFE tube installed?

Yes, I bought the replacement from Prusa and it had the PTFE tube in it.  But the filament isn't getting anywhere near that.  it is getting stopped above the gears.

Take a look at this page:

Pay particular attention to the last two pictures.

Cheerio,

SOLVED - Duh on me.  I took the thing apart again, and found a little glob of filament in the upper passage that was blocking it.  I thought I had removed the filamen cleanly when I pulled it out, but it left a hidden blockage.  Obvious in retrospect.  I suspected it was a dumb question.  thanks.
