Extruder skips due to squeaky idler bearing
Recently my MK3S+ developed the problem of occasional extruder skips. At first I thought it was the result of me replacing some hot-end parts, or a clogged nozzle. But it turned out to be dry bearings in the extruder idler. It made squeaky sounds, but I wasn't expecting it to have the skipping effect. Lubricating the bearings fixed both the squeaking and the skipping.
Greetings,

Which bearing did you replace?

Hi Chuck,
These were the bearings on the extruder-idler* shaft. I didn't replace them, as lubricating (tiny bit of oil) fixed both the squeeking and the filament skips.
