Does the nozzle setting on the printer matter?

I just got my .8 nozzle and went to change the hardware setup in the printer to .8 and it doesnt exist. I removed the nozzle check line from the gcode in prusa slicer. What does the setting on the printer do exactly? Is there supposed to be .8 now that its been released, I am on the latest firmware.

The check doesn't change any functionality. I disabled it myself. Ignore it or disable the check until firmware addresses it.

Perfect, that's how it seemed to me, so I just removed the check. Thanks for the confirmation!
