Display Malfunction
My printer has been working well for many years.
This afternoon, during a 26 hour print, I noticed a piece of filament on the printer display. As I picked off the piece of scrap, the displayed flickered and two rows of 12 rectangular boxes each row appeared in the lower right of the screen.
I assume it was static electricity. Any suggestions on how to fix or replace it? Thank you.
RE: Display Malfunction
Playing with Arduino and Displays for a while, I suppose it is only a faulty connector. So don´t panic.
0; Disconnect Power line cord. Touch metallic structure (frame, PS..) from time to time to discharge yourself of static electricity.
1; open casing of the Display.
2; mark cable by number and write the number on the board. It helps to find the connector again.
3; Carefully unplug the cable. Only this one and only one at a time. Mind and mark the direction of the cable. Normaly the plugs are mechanically blocked from turning back to the slot in the wrong direction.
4; Reconnect plug again. Be carefull. Don´t use force. LCDs break easyly.
5; Repeat with the other cables.
6; Reassemble LCD housing. Don´t use force. LCDs break easyly.
7; Follow the cables to the RAMBO Board. Inspect every one carefully. Watch if they are cut by sharp edges, screws, zip-ties.. etc.
8; Power the Printer on again. Problem solved ? Time for Haribos! 😀
If not, back to Step 0; and repeat on the RAMBO Board. Be cautious! Mark every connector you touch so you can place it back in the right slot. Mark direction! f. e. mark the cable plug and the slot on the same side, so you know the right direction. Disconnect and reconnect only one at a time!

Thanks Alec for your suggestions. Unfortunately, nothing changed. The lower right two rows of 12 rectangles are still lit up.
RE: Display Malfunction
Sri it did not help. It was worth a try. I fear your only option now ist to call Prusa Support for replacement.

The same problem is here:

RE: Display Malfunction
Thanks again Alec for your comment. I rechecked the two connections the example mentioned and found it did not affect my problem.
My problem shows up when I first turn on the machine as two lines of white blank blocks starting at the center lower half of the screen and going to the right as four blocks in two lines. As the machine completes booting up those two lines of blocks extend to the extreme right edge of the screen.
I am able to use my machine it prints perfectly. The white blocks cover over any data displayed in the lower right quarter of the screen.
