Different speeds at bed levelling
Hi,
i have a MK3s and a MK3s+, both stock without modifications. Both run firmware 3.11.0-4955. Both have the same levelling settings, 9 points, 3x z-probe and no magnet compensation. The MK3s+ does the three measures per point a lot faster than the MK3s.
Is there a reason for this?
Regards
Stefan
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
Does nobody have an idea?
RE:
I don’t have a MK3S for comparison to my MK3S+ but, from what I understand the 3S has a temperature sensitive Pinda sensor that needs to come up to temp prior to performing the bed mesh leveling routine in order to insure accuracy.
If it’s a delay in starting the mesh probe routine, this might explain it. If it’s a slower probe routine entirely, I will have to defer to one of the more experienced users here.
Cheers

Pinda temperature issues are a known thing. It works best at certain temps. Pinda G codes are one of the 602 fixes for the shit prints the MK3s+ supports.
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
Oh no, i think i discribed my problem wrong. Both mesh levelling on both works perfect, the pindas work perfect. Its just the different speed how they measure. Is that a Pinda issue? Its not a Problem at all, i am just curious.
Shit Prints? Unknown to me with MK3S. I wouldnt have bought a second printer (and i am very close to a third) if i had shit prints. I am not a Prusa fanboy, but they are relieable and never let me down
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
One printer's bed being less flat than the other will cause the probing at the points that are farther out of plane to take slightly longer. I get some of this with the clone bed that I bought for my second printer.
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
The probe probes different speeds around the bed. That is normal, at least for my MK3S+ and MK3S+ clone. You can turn on compensation (for the magnets in the bed) and you can also mess around with some of the 602 forum suggestions such as warming it up first to certain temps before probing.
One thing to note though is that this only compensates for a few layers (2 layers in my Marlin programs, not sure what Prusa sets theirs too), so if the z-height is way out of wack you're still not going to get the results you'd like.
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
the speed is about the pinda if you have the last one super pinda or the old one pindaV2
but on my case i have both spinda and both 3.11 fmw and 1 is slower than 2nd one , i sent video the support but they don't see much difference !!!! it's almost twice time from 1 to the other !!
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
The probing speed is also affected by the print mode (normal / stealth)
So check if both printers are working in the same mode.
RE: Different speeds at bed levelling
I never use the stealth mode ,so both are on normal mode, and it's only on the bed leveling before printing
