Clicky x axis?

Having a problem where my printer clicks along the x axis occasionally any ideas?

I edited your video link so that it is clickable,

Unfortunately I couldn't get any sound on the video,

Total guesswork,

Clicking could be:-

nozzle crossing infill,
Linear bearings  faulty, or not lubricated
Idler bearing at the tight hand end of the X axis, faulty...

Good luck, maybe someone else can hear the video!

regards Joan

This one is very broad.  There are a lot of reasons for clicking sounds.  A loose strand of filament could be hitting the fan shroud occasionally (tiny tick tick sounds as the head moves past the object being printed).  A moose could be hiding behind the door and tapping with cymbals to distract you.  Do you have any more to go on?

Sadly not I don't see anything hitting the fan but could it be the bearings or something?

RE: Clicky x axis?

I had similar, at first I thought it was extruder clicks and jams so I was all over the extruder, however I noticed it happened on X-Axis movement, even when moving by hand. It actually led me to typing up these sound tests: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/56314-mk3s-linear-sound-test

What the problem was for me was apparently actually snugging the screws up on the back of the extruder made them too tight and made the bearings click. Try backing out the 4 screws holding the extruder back plate a turn or two. The two at the top, one in the middle, and the slightly hidden one at the bottom (not the one holding the wire relief). This drove me nuts for awhile before finding it, usually it caused issue near the middle where I was printing, which is why I thought it was extruder clicks (but never affected quality).

I think I know, I don’t think I know. I don’t think I think I know, I don’t think I think.

Thanks for the advice, turns out it was the linear bearings, I just rotated one a couple of degrees and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks
