Auto filament load not longer working

... but if I just push the filament in to the extruder assembly by hand and start the print it eventually started lay down filament after 1 layer pass (.15mm) on a simple part.  is this a s/w or h/w issue?  if s/w is there a way to rest the printer back to its default?

RE: Auto filament load not longer working

My problem as the filament sensor not working.

Go to one of the menu items (maybe support) and sensor status.  Look for the filament sensor value.  It should change from stable 0 to stable 1 and back again as you insert and remove the filament.

Fixing is a bit of vodoo magic.

For me, it was putting a shim under the sensor to increase the separation of the sensor to the body. You can test that by taking the cover off and loosening the sensor then manually moving the sensor.  all while watching the senor value displayed on the LCD.

There are a couple of other things to try but loosening the sensor and moving it is the usual suspect.  If this doesn't work, reply and I can find the more detailed diagnosis thread.

Thx!  I’ll give that a try and it makes sense .... I was trying to use Ninaflex TPU (bad idea ...) and after initiating the unload I didn’t pullout out fast enough and it hardened against the plastic wall where you insert filament.  I finally managed to remove it by pushing in a heated tip of a tiny Allen wrench but I could have easily moved that sensor out of position  while trying to dislodge the ninjaflex ....
