Attempting to upgrade to Mosquito hotend, encountering firmware issues

I've ordered a Mosquito hotend, as well as Slice's 50W heater and high temp thermistor. I've found documentation for how to add the temperature table for the thermistor, but I'm having issue finding documentation as to how to safely change the max temperature, while preserving thermal runaway protection, and with changing the heater (and its configuration) in firmware.

Anyone done this before and have any advice?

I am having the same issue. I just got an MK3S and a Mosquito Magnum with the 50w heater and the Slice Engineering thermister. I can't find anything online on how exactly to update my firmware to be able to accommodate these upgrades. I just need an easy walkthrough on how to get this up and running. It's very confusing for a noobie to all of this. Please help me and thank you.

This update is not easy.  There are a number of videos on it.  I finally had to get a programmer to do it for me.

Ok well super interesting that such a common and well-reputed upgrade has essentially no real internal documentation. I'm a programmer by trade, so there's a chance I can just dig through the firmware source by hand until I figure everything out. I'll attempt that later today and get back here if I achieve anything.

I know, at the least, there's a video for adding the temp table for the new thermistor, but it's really the heater where I'm worried, even though theoretically it should only be demanding a third an amp more than the standard heater.

@james_liebig there's a video up on the thermistor table changes, at least, but I haven't found anything beyond that. There's also a chance that no modification is necessary on the heater side, and that it'll just demand the proper current to achieve the desired temperature. However, I don't know that reliably, so definitely don't act on it.

This is definitely a very hard upgrade for a newb - have you considered assembling the Mk3s as is and then waiting to integrate the Mosquito until later? It'd also help save you from not knowing where the error is, if you encounter one.

@charles-h13 so you have a precompiled firmware that works properly for a Mosquito hotend with the 50w heater and upgrade thermistor? I'd love if you could share it lol, especially the source before compilation.

Ok thank y'all so much for your time. Yeah I may just keep it stock until it gets easier I guess.
