Any tricks to replacing filament sensor?

I ordered a spare filament sensor along with other parts months ago. The sensor on my Mk3 (arrived late March 2018) seems to have gone bad. I removed the top cover, unplugged the 4 cable plug and though I could just lift the sensor out, but it's holding fast. Looking at the assembly manual, it appears to just drop in and be held by the top cover.

Before I go applying more force, are there any tips or tricks for removing the sensor?

There is a mounting screw behind the idler door hinge bolt.
